Nokia N900 –Features of Nokia mobile computer – Smart mobile phone

The new Nokia N900 is a slider smart phone or Internet Tablet or a a mobile computer (as Nokia says it).It has a large 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display screen, HSPA and WiFi, 32GB of storage (expandable to 48GB via a microSD card), a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss autofocus camera with dual LED flash,Assisted GPS,fast ARM Cortex-A8 processor (also used in Palm Pre and iPhone 3GS).The Nokia N900 features a full Adobe Flash 9.4 support and runs on a Maemo Linux-based OS.

The Nokia N900 packs a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. The result is PC-like multitasking, allowing many applications to run simultaneously. Switching between applications is simple, as all running content is constantly available through the dashboard. The panoramic homescreen can be fully personalized with favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications.

To make web browsing more enjoyable, the Nokia N900 features a high-resolution WVGA touch screen and fast internet connectivity with 10/2 HSPA and WLAN. Thanks to the browser powered by Mozilla technology, websites look the way they would on any computer. Online videos and interactive applications are vivid with full Adobe Flash(TM) 9.4 support. Maemo software updates happen automatically over the internet.

Opening A Linux User Club in Jamia

What is LUC@JAMIA ?
LUC@JAMIA is refers to the Linux User Club At JAMIA . It's a platform that provides students an easy way
to learn the linux and open source software . We can change fossily ( foss + easily ) by just saying nothing
immpossible by gainning knowledge .
Objectives
To create an active and well equipped Linux Community within JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA University.

To establish a medium to promote FOSS activity and to increase the active interaction amongst members of

the club .
To keep the students informed about latest developments in the Open Source Community.

To provide a separate platform to all the students of university to communicate and share the different

experiences with linux.
Mission
To spread the knowledge of Open Source Software and to promote the usage of Linux operating system among
the students of the University.
Initial Activities
Session 1 :General Introduction to Open Source softwares (FOSS/FLOSS) and Linux.

Session 2 :Installation of Linux . Technical processes.

Session 3 :Linux Commands and usage.

Session 4:Introduction of Linux as a programming


Benefits
Many students don't have a clue about Linux. They can join the club to learn what it's all about.

The senior students can share their own experiences with junior newbies.

Establishment of a different community of students , to intiate project after 2 or 3 years .

Increment in the FOSS activites in the University.

The sessions will full of fun and interaction .

Policies
This club is open for all the students of the university.

No formal membership is required. This Club is purely interest based.

All sessions will be held after class hours.

The sessions will be conducted in an informal interactive manner so as to generate genuine interest amongst

students.
Eventhough the Club is meant for JMI ,interested people from outside are also welcome to join the forum and

interact with forum members.
